Boxing Day is celebrated in England, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and is a legal holiday. St. Stephan's Day influenced the theme for Boxing Day. On St. Stephan's Day churches would give their collection boxes to the poor. Today it is celebrated as a day for showing appreciation.
