Cellophane Tape Day is a day to celebrate the invention of transparent cellophane tape and its many uses. Commonly called Scotch Tape or Invisible Tape, it was invented by Richard Drew of the 3M company and patented on May 27th, 1930. Now a household and office necessity, its uses range from wrapping presents and fixing things to taking lint off of clothes.
