Drinking Straw Day recognizes the invention that makes drinking a soda that much more fun. Though, sometimes not so fun for others in the room when someone is loudly using a straw to get every last drop of pop from the bottom of the cup. The date for this holiday coincides with the invention of the wax paper drinking straw that was patented by Marvin C. Stone on January 3rd, 1888.
