About the Holiday

Created by the Secret Society of Happy People, Happiness Happens Day has two purposes: to recognize and express happiness; and to discourage parade raining. The Society believes happiness is contagious and that when more people talk about happy events and moments, it will be considered chic for everyone to engage in it. The society encourages celebrating by exchanging gifts of silver (every cloud has a silver lining), paying happiness forward, sharing happy memories or hosting a happy celebration.
