About the Holiday
International Beer Day or IBD is a holiday celebrating the greatness of beer. International Beer Day first was first conceptualized by a group of college students (Jesse Avshalomov, Evan Hamilton, Aaron Araki, Richard Hernandez, Tyler Burton and Ryland Hale) who first celebrated their holiday on August 5th, 2007. The celebration date remained August 5th through 2012. After which, the holiday's date was changed to the first Friday in August.
To guide you, the holiday now has its own official website, International Beer Day. The basic principles of International Beer Day are to gather with friends to enjoy the taste of beer, recognize those who brew and serve beer, and to unite the world by celebrating all the world's beers.
