Also known as "Ocean Day", Marine Day is a national holiday in the country of Japan. National law there establishes Marine Day as "a day of gratitude for the blessings of the oceans and to hope for the economic prosperity of maritime Japan". Citizens of Japan often go to the beach in celebration of this day.
