About the Holiday
Morse Code Day is a celebrated on the anniversary of the first message sent in Morse Code on May 24th, 1844. It's a day to recognize the first step in electronic communications that started with a few simple dots and dashes, and over the years has evolved into us being able to sit in a park and download a funny video or talk with nearly anyone in the world.
A number of sources list this holiday as being celebrated on April 27th, the birthday of Samuel Morse, though through our research we've found more, and more quality, references to it coinciding with the first Morse Code message.
