National Devil's Food Cake Day celebrates this rich, chocolatey, sinfully good cake that's the counterpart of the fluffy, light, and white Angel Food Cake. The cake first appeared in the United States in the early 20th century with the first recipe in print in 1905. Most recipes call for cocoa vs. others melted chocolate which makes it a bit more fluffy.
