About the Holiday
National Edge Day celebrates the Straight Edge movement amongst a subgroup of punk rockers who refrain from alcohol, tobacco and drugs. There motto is "True till death." Usually on Edge Day is a main concert, Edge Fest is held in Boston, MA and other smaller venues elsewhere. Sometimes Edge Fest is held on the Saturday prior to October 17th, if it does not fall on a weekend.
Edge Day originated on October 17th, 1999 at the final Ten Yard Fight concert in Boston which marked the end of the 1990s youth crew revival.[1]
