About the Holiday
Who doesn't love this mouthwatering concoction of pasta noodles, gooey cheese and tomato sauce? Lasagna is widely considered to have originated in Italy, but the word "lasagna" comes from the Greek "lasana", meaning "trivet" or "stand for a pot" - originally referring to the dish the pasta was made in. There are hundreds of different ways this popular dish can be prepared, but you might as well stick to the old favorite in celebration of National Lasagna Day.
