About the Holiday
National Quilting Day celebrates the hobby of stitching together fabric. Established by the National Quilting Association in 1991 for the purpose of continuing this tradition by education and service. There are even no sew quilts. Quilting is often done as a service project and donated to nursing homes, for new babies, battered women shelter, homeless shelter, or the Red Cross.
