About the Holiday
This holiday, National Tooth Fairy Day honors a childhood friend. The American tradition is that when a child looses a tooth, they are to put the tooth under their pillow. The Tooth Fairy then visits while they sleep and exchanges the tooth for a gift, usually money. The promise of the visit from the Tooth Fairy seems to take the apprehension out of losing a tooth and makes the event more welcomed. Each time a tooth is lost, the Tooth Fairy visits.
