About the Holiday
Neither Rain or Snow Day celebrates the opening of the New York Post Office in 1914. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." is inscribed on the building. Despite popular belief this is not the Post Office motto. The Post Office does not have a motto. Well maybe except we will raise the price of stamps.
