About the Holiday
Patriot Day is the day to remember the nearly three thousand people who died in the September 11th attacks. The president requests that all US flags be flown at half staff on all government buildings and that a moment of silence be observed at 8:46am.
This day is sometimes confused with Patriots' Day which is celebrated in April and is in commemoration of the Battle of Lexington and Concord during the American Revolutionary War.
