About the Holiday
Paul Bunyan Day celebrates the legendary giant lumberjack from American folklore. Paul Bunyan legends told of him doing great feats along with his trustee blue ox, Babe. Such feats include how he dug the Grand Canyon when he dragged his axe behind him, and him creating the Great Lakes because he needed a watering hole large enough for Babe to drink from.
Celebrate this holiday by reading some of the tall tales about Paul, or go on a road-trip and visit one of the monuments that have been created in his honor.
