About the Holiday
Public servants make our world run easier. They deliver mail, drive buses, fight fires, protect us and work long hours at under appreciated government jobs. In 2003, the United Nations designated June 23rd as United Nations Public Service Day to encourage all people to celebrate the value and virtue of public service to the community and to encourage young people to seek public sector jobs.
