About the Holiday
Race Unity Day is a reminder to transform our thinking toward the realization that we are all esteemed members of the human race. Distinctions such as hair, eye, or skin color as well as height, weight and income are merely traits that provide us with our individuality. While being an individual makes us unique, we all have an united bond as people.
This holiday was started in 1957 by the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of the United States who were followers of Baha'u'llah who was the founder of the xBaha'i faith. It was Baha'u'llah who's teachings implored people to "Close your eyes to racial differences and welcome all with the light of oneness.". More information can be found at their website.
