About the Holiday
Saxophone Day is a day to honor the saxophone, one of the best woodwind instruments and a staple in jazz music, and its inventor Adolphe Sax who was born on November 6th, 1814. Adolphe Sax invented the saxophone back in the early 1840s and received a patent for the saxophone on June 28th, 1846. There are many types of saxophones, but all fall within a specific type: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, or Baritone. Celebrate Saxophone Day with any saxophonists or jazz, orchestral, or big band music lover in your life.
