About the Holiday
Recognized by the United Nations, World Habitat Day is a day of grassroots action to promote an united effort to end poverty housing. It's goal is to call attention to the current state of the global human habitat and to make an affordable, decent place to live a reality for all.
This holiday was created in December 1985 by declaration of the United Nations General Assembly. Visit the Habitat for Humanity Information Page for more information.
