About the Holiday
World Nutella Day celebrates this brand of a popular chocolate and hazelnut spread. Nutella was registered by the Italian company Ferrero in late 1963. Main ingredients include sugar, vegetable oil, cocoa, hazelnuts, and skim milk but the full recipe is a secret and is guarded by Ferraro. Pietro Ferrero first created Nutella in the 1940s when, after World War II, chocolate was rationed so he added hazelnuts so his chocolate supply would last longer.
Nutella can be eaten out of the jar, on a croissant, baguette, on toast, a waffle, a crepe, on ice cream, with pretzels, in hot chocolate, as a Nutella and jelly sandwich, or dipped with fruit. Their are endless possibilities. For great recipes used with Nutella visit http://www.nutelladay.com/nutella-recipes/
