About the Holiday
World UFO Day is a day for people to gather together and watch the skies for unidentified flying objects. It is celebrated on July 2nd to commemorate the Roswell crash on that day in 1947. This holiday can also be celebrated by wearing or creating UFO/Alien t-shirts, making pictures of strange objects in the sky, or watching alien movies.
Some people celebrate this holiday on June 24th to recognize the the first widely reported U.F.O. sighting by Kenneth Arnold who claimed to see "flying saucers" over Mount Rainier in 1947.[1] Though, the World UFO Day Organization (WUFODO) has declared July 2nd to be the official World UFO Day.[2]
