Amnesty International Day is an important day that focuses on protecting the basic human rights of everyone around the world. Amnesty International is the worlds largest grassroots human rights organization and received the Nobel Peace prize for the work they've done. The website Amnestyusa.org site states "Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights. We work to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied." Amnesty International is a non-government agency that started in 1961 in London by British lawyer Peter Benenson.
