About the Holiday
Black Friday marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season. With so many people off work and full of turkey, they head to stores for some crazed shopping time to cash in on all the deals that retailers offer; with many consumers lining up to wait outside their favorite stores that open extra early in hopes of snatching the best deals. You'd think that this day is called Black Friday because retail workers dread the day because they're so busy, but this day gets its name because many retailers' financial statements move from the red to black on this day.
If you're in the mood to burn calories via the sport of shopping, this is the day of days. Throw in some proper budgeting, planning and a good sense of humor, and your inaugural shopping trip of the holiday season just may be a success.
