About the Holiday
Simply put, on Fragrance Day we celebrate fragrances. Nice smelling scents may be found in perfumes, colognes, potpourri, soups, lotions, candles, air fresheners, car deodorizers, etc. Aromatherapy fragrance is said to affect your mood or health. The most popular is lavender which is said to help you relax and sleep as does Bergamot and Sandalwood. Fragrances that help cognitive performance include lemon, jasmine, peppermint, rosemary (also helps with memory). Perfumes have been around for a long time and may have started in Egypt Mesopotamia. Bathing was not common so after a few days they needed to cover up their smell.
