Chocolate Covered Apple Favors

These delectable desserts are as scrumptious to look at as they are to eat. Whether you dip your apples in dark, milk or white chocolate, the end result is a masterful piece of edible art!

Supplies Directions

(Based on 6 apples)

  • Sweet or Tart Apples. Braeburn, Fuji and Gala typically work the best.
  • Craft or Popsicle Sticks.
  • One pound Semi-Sweet, Milk or White chocolate, cut into chunks.
  • Toppings of your choosing.
  • Food Coloring.
  • Microwave Safe Bowl.
  • Cookie Sheet.
  • Wax Paper
  • Cellophane
  • Ribbon


  • Remove stems, wash and thoroughly dry your apples.
  • Place craft or popsicle sticks in the stem end of each apple.
  • Place the apples in the refrigerator to cool.
  • Place the chocolate in your microwave safe bowl, and heat on high for 2 minutes, stirring halfway through heating time.
  • Remove from the microwave and stir the chocolate until it is completely melted.
  • If you're using white chocolate, consider adding food coloring to coordinate with your wedding colors.
  • When the mixture is warm, not hot, dunk each chilled apple, allowing the excess to drip back into the bowl.
  • Roll each apple in your desired toppings.
  • Place each apple on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper.
  • Chill in refrigerator until chocolate has set.
  • Wrap your apples in cellophane and tie with a color coordinating ribbon.


Candy Apple Favors

Bright and cheerful, Candy Apples are a festive addition to any wedding. Their vibrant red color makes them particularly apropos during the Christmas holidays, Independence Day, or a Valentine's Day themed celebration. Regardless of the time of year, this sticky delight will always be a wedding favor sensation!

Supplies Directions

(Based on 8 Apples)

  • Red Apples
  • Craft of Popsicle Sticks
  • 2 C Sugar
  • 1 C Light Corn Syrup
  • 1/2 C Water
  • 1/4 C Red Hot Cinnamon Candies
  • 10 Drops Red Food Coloring
  • 2 Qt. Saucepan
  • Wax Paper or Greased Baking Sheet
  • Cellophane
  • Ribbon
  • Remove stems, wash and thoroughly dry apples.
  • Insert craft or popsicle sticks in stem end of each apple.
  • In 2 Qt. saucepan, mix sugar, corn syrup and water.
  • Cook mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils and sugar is dissolved.
  • Then cook to 250 degrees, without stirring, until a small amount of syrup dropped into very cold water forms a ball that is hard enough to hold its shape, but still pliable.
  • Add cinnamon candies and continue cooking to 285 degrees, or until small amount dropped into cold water separates into threads which are very hard, but not brittle.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in red hot candies.
  • Hold each apple by the stick and quickly twirl in the syrup, tilting pan to cover all the apple.
  • Allow excess to drip off, then twirl to spread syrup smooth over apple.
  • Place apples on a the lightly greased baking sheet or wax paper to cool.
  • Wrap finished apples in cellophane, and tie with a color coordinating ribbon.


Caramel Apple Favors

Supplies Directions

(Based on 6 Apples)

  • Granny Smith Apples
  • Individually Wrapped Caramels. (One 14 oz. bag will cover 6 apples).
  • Milk (2 Tbs. for 6 apples).
  • Butter
  • Craft or Popsicle Sticks
  • Microwave Safe Bowl
  • Baking Sheet or Wax Paper
  • Toppings of your choosing. Some popular toppings include candy sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos, or M&M's.
  • Cellophane
  • Ribbon
  • Remove the stems from all apples, then wash and dry thoroughly.
  • Insert craft or popsicle sticks into stem end of each apple.
  • Butter baking sheets or wax paper.
  • Place caramel and milk in the microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 2 minutes, stirring once.
  • Allow caramel and milk mixture to cool briefly.
  • Roll each apple in the topping of your choice.
  • Place on prepared baking sheet or wax paper to set.
  • Refrigerate until use.
  • Wrap in cellophane and tie with a ribbon that coordinates with your wedding colors.
