About the Holiday
Fortune Cookie Day is set aside to celebrate the idea of the fortune cookie. The fortune cookie, originally known as fortune tea cakes, first emerged in the US in California during the early 1900's. It's origins appear to be tied to a similar cookie made as far back as the 19th century in Kyoto, Japan.[1] Celebrate this holiday by giving a fortune cookie, or any small gift, as a token of good luck or simply to let someone know that you're thinking of them.
