About the Holiday
International TableTop Day was created to promote getting people together to play tabletop games like a card game, board game, or pen/paper game. It was created thanks to Wil Wheaton’s popular web series TableTop on Geek & Sundry. The mission of the day is "to unite people in the common purpose of spending time together and having fun." Events may include libraries, universities, clubs, retailers, or neighbors coming together to play tabletop board games.
There are many tabletop games to choose from. Some popular tabletop board games include Chess, Monopoly, Scrabble, Risk, Checkers, Battleship, Trivial Pursuit, Apples to Apples, Backgammon, Candyland, Sorry, Trouble, Chutes and Ladders, Yahtzee, Othello, Life, Clue, and Cranium.
