About the Holiday
In honor of the birthday of everyone's favorite author, Dr. Seuss, the National Education Association established March 2nd as Read Across America Day, where every child can read in the company of a caring adult. So, get out your red and white striped top hat, and celebrate the fun of reading with a little one in your life. Don't have children around? Contact your nearest elementary school for opportunities to volunteer or even donate some books. You're never too old - or too young - for a little Dr. Seuss!
