About the Holiday
Reconciliation Day is a day to put aside your differences and mend fences with those who should be part of your life. Life is too short to not be on good terms with a parent, child, relative or someone who used to be one of your close friends. Since 1989, Ann Landers has suggested and promoted that April 2nd be put aside as Reconciliation Day. Since then, she has received and published numerous letters/emails from her readers who've taken her advice and are thankful that they've put aside their differences and reconnected with those who are important to them.
It's also ironically coincidental that this holiday/observance falls on the day after April Fools Day. If one of your clever pranks turned out to be not so clever, today would be a good day to patch things up.
