About the Holiday
Easter is one of the greatest feasts of the Christian calendar and celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ, son of God, three days after he was crucified. The day Easter falls on varies each year as it falls on the Sunday after the full moon after the vernal equinox. So, Easter may be anywhere from March 22 and April 25. Easter is typically one of the most attended church services of the year. For Catholics, Easter Sunday comes after 40 days of lent where there is fasting, prayer and almsgiving. People who convert to Catholicism are traditionally baptized during the Easter Vigil service.
